We invested into the extra warranty plan throuh Geek Squad when we purchased two new phones. I had a cracked screen and took it to Geek Squad, stood there in a non-existant line while three people were working behind the desk (wearing Geek Squad attire), It took almost 15 minutes before anyoneeven addressed myself and my husband. Once we got started with ansociate, he was less than friendly, did not tell us his name, did not keep us informed of what he was doing to help repair the cracked screen, and also did no seem to be very knowledgable. After about an hour and a half of standing there watching him do who knows what, he finally said tocome back in an hour an he will have it all taken care of. My husband and I left and came back to pick up my phone, One again, we waited in a non-existant line with emplyees chatting away, we finally got help from the same lack luster employee. He told us he was unsure as to what needs to be done to fix the screen and said he wa waiting for his supervisor to come back so he can help. Why was this not done almost two hours ago when we left? An hour later the supervisor shows upand says we need a loaner phone and then he printed up a document that stated when to pick the phone up. We returned a day after the date stated on the document to pick the phone up. The employee that was working there at the time was nice but but informed us that the phone was not there but was due to come inthe delivery the next day. We inquired why we didnt get an update as to the delay and he said I dont know. After three more days of waiting I called to see if it was there and it was, we picked it up and moved on with our lives
Screen cracked again, we took it in and were informed that someone or something terminatted the warranty plan on the cell phone, But yet my husbands insurance plan was still in tact, We bought the same phone, same day, same plan, and use the same account to pay it all. We also founf ut that the insurance plan changed and there were no loaner phones anymore. If a plan that obne pays for and has been paying for changes, you need to INFORM them. So now we are stuck calling the 1-800 Geek Squad number to get things resolved because nobody in the store hss that jurisdiction. We have now been on the phone with for over an hour and very little is being resolved, explained, or any sort of action pkan to move forward. We can not even bother them to speak to a supervoisor. They can not seem to hire attiquit staff for their customer service via phone, or in the store. We have dealt with many employees and ALL seem lax in their job.
I would advise to NEVER get the Geek Squad plan, it is a waste of money, time, and too much stress for anyone to deal with. I feel we had the wool pulled over our eyes time and time again with the Best Buy Geek Squad and we are not tolleratingit anymore.
If you value your finances and like to reman stress free, AVOID Geek Squad
